- square shape – file the side edges and edges to sharp edges, then place the file surface perpendicular to the bottom edge and file to a straight line
- pointed shape – you can file using the so-called technique I, where you imagine a line connecting the middle of the lower and upper parts of the nail and file the side edges to this point on the free edge
- rounded square or squoval shape – proceed in the same way as for the square shape, just remove the sharp corners at the bottom edge

When it comes to nail length, it is not easy to say what is too long and what is too short. Every woman has a different natural length , and everyone perceives it differently. So while for one woman even an extra millimeter is literally a disaster, another can handle any manual activity with very long nails without any problems. Nail shapes are also subject to fashion trends, so many women chase after their dream shape without respecting their natural one, which in the end is more harmful than beneficial. Also take into account whether you have natural or artificial nails.
