Argan oil is pressed from the kernels of the fruit of a tree called Argania spinosa. These trees are found only in the southwestern part of Morocco, they have not yet been cultivated anywhere else in the world. The tree lives up to 200 years, but it only starts to bear fruit after 15 years. This significantly affects the production of argan oil and increases its price.
