Ring your AirTag

iPhone will guide you

Operating principle
The device works by sending a secure Bluetooth signal that compatible devices nearby that are connected to the Find My service can pick up and report the AirTag's location to iCloud. It will then immediately appear in the Find My app. Of course, everything is completely anonymous, automated, and encrypted.

Lost device mode
Like other Apple devices, AirTag can be put into lost device mode. You'll automatically receive a notification when another device connected to the network encounters it, or you can set the device to reveal your contact information to the finder when they approach it with an NFC-equipped phone.
