Popcorn is a special type of crop with a hard shell that, when heated, creates pressure in the center of the kernel, causing it to burst. The starches and proteins hidden inside are then released to the surface, giving the kernels their classic white shape that everyone knows. Popcorn is a food that is relatively low in energy. To maintain its beneficial nutritional properties, it needs to be prepared without fat or with a high-quality oil that does not burn, such as coconut oil.

Preparation:
In a pot/pan: Pour the corn into a pot with heated oil so that the corn only covers the bottom. Cover with a lid. Once the intervals between popping the corn are longer than 5 seconds, turn off the stove.

In the microwave: Pour the corn into a bowl, cover loosely with a lid, and microwave at 500-600 W for 3 to 4 minutes. Turn off the oven when the intervals between popping are longer than 5 seconds.

Tip: For flavor, the finished popcorn can be sprinkled with salt or a spoonful of melted butter.
